Resistance Hat Cast On Party

Resistance Hat Cast On Party

Thursday, February 19, 5-7 pm
& Saturday, February 21, 11 am-1 pm

In the 1940’s, Norwegians made and wore red pointed hats with a tassel as a form of visual protest against Nazi occupation of their country. Within two years, the Nazis made these protest hats illegal and punishable by law to wear, make, or distribute.

For our February Knit Night and Saturday Stitch-In, we will be hosting a cast on party for your own red resistance hat! You can choose any pattern, any yarn, any craft. If you already have a red hat WIP, feel free to bring that too!

It is FREE to join, and no reservation is required. We have chairs and couches, but please keep in mind that seating is limited! Please note: this is NOT a class!

If you would like to purchase the original Melt the ICE Hat pattern, you can find the knit version here and the crochet version here, on Ravelry. All proceeds from the sale of this pattern go to the immigrant aid agencies who will distribute the funds to those impacted by the actions of ICE.
