Learn to Knit the Sailor Slippers

The sailor slippers are fun multicolored slippers that are knit flat then seamed together and felted at the end. This is class is a 2-day class taking place on January 4th at 1:30-3:30pm and January 18th at 1:30-3:30pm. Upon finishing the knitting of the slippers in the second class, you will take them home and felt the slippers according to the instructions.

 Materials: bulky weight yarns, size US 11 (8mm) circular needle (24” or bigger, not straight needles), opening stitch markers, and a darning needle. The pattern should be purchased at the link below before the class and is not included in class price:

Yarn: You will need bulky weight yarn in 3 colors, 100g each. I recommend Malabrigo Chunky, Alafosslopi or WATG Alpachino Merino. I recommend using the same brand of yarn for all three colors.

Experience Needed: You should already know how to cast on, knit, purl, and bind off.

Homework: For the first class you should cast on the number of sts in the pattern and work for the first 3 rows according to the instructions, stopping right before the first color change.

What You'll Learn: How to pick up stitches, backward loop cast on, increase/decrease, changing colors, seaming the fabric together, knitting i-cord. The felting procedure will be covered, but the actual felting should be done at home individually.
