Learn Sashiko

Learn the art of Japanese embroidery known as Sashiko. In this class you will be introduced to the basic running stitch used to create traditional patterns and designs. We will also cover tools, supplies, threads as well as techniques to transfer patterns while sewing on your own sampler. 

Materials:
You will purchase a pre-printed sampler (there are three designs to choose from in the shop). You will also need a long Sashiko needle, a palm thimble and 2 colors of Sashiko thread. Please purchase your supplies at Cast Away.

Experience Needed: Basic hand sewing or embroidery experience is helpful.
