Granny Square Vest Class

Materials: Amount of yarn depends on the size you are making. The main color requires 819 yards (small), 1092 yards (medium), or 1365 yards (large), as well as three accents colors, 140-273 yards each of worsted weight yarn. The sample was made using Knitting For Olive Heavy Merino. 16” and/or 32" circular needles in size US 7/4.5mm and US 7/4.5mm crochet hook, scissors, darning needle, tape measure, and stitch markers. (Be sure to show up to class on time with materials ready or come early to shop.)

Experience Needed: Students must already know crochet and knitting basics such as knit, purl, single crochet, double crochet, slip stitch, chain, and knitting in the round.

What you’ll learn:
Your first class: Learn granny square basics, create a granny square swatch and determine how to create the vest size you would like to make.

Homework: Decide the size you plan to knit and purchase the yarn amount and other necessary materials.
