A Knitting Retreat in the Redwoods

Join us for our 2nd annual retreat from October 22–25, 2026. This is a chance to step away from the daily routine and spend three days among the trees with people who love knitting and crochet as much as you do.

We’ll be staying at St. Dorothy’s in Camp Meeker, just 30 minutes west of Santa Rosa. It’s a quiet space surrounded by 600 acres of redwood forest, perfect for slowing down and focusing on your craft and enjoying the company of your fellow retreat-goers.

The Haps:

The weekend is designed to be relaxed and social. We’ve balanced workshops with plenty of open time. There will be a total of 25 of us, including staff. Last year this seemed like the perfect number so we're not changing that this year :) 

- Workshops: Knit or crochet Color Play with Jessica, Sashiko Buttons with Dennice, Mosaic Knitting with Jasmine, and another knitting themed class not yet determined.

- Social Time: Join a knitting + crochet circle, participate in a craft swap, gather around the campfire for s’mores.

- Nature: Take a light hike or enjoy the views of the Pacific from the hilltop.

- Meals: All meals are included and made from scratch. Vegan and gluten-free options are available upon request (we'll reach out to ask your dietary needs). Cast Away will also provide snacks and wine, and you are welcome to bring your favorite food and drink items.

Accommodations:

We will stay in two historic Craftsman-style homes a short walk from each other. These houses are well-maintained and full of original woodwork, offering a cozy, rustic atmosphere.

- Rooms: Every bedroom has a sink, dresser, and heater. We offer both private single rooms and shared rooms (two people), all beds are twin size. Bathrooms and shower rooms are shared, and nearby each room.

- Facilities: Please note the property has stairs and some uneven walkways.

Pricing:

The price includes three nights of lodging, all meals, workshops, and a welcome goodie bag.

Private Single Room: $1400

Shared Room (2 people): $1025

Important Details

- Ages 21+: This event is for adults, as conversations are mature and alcohol will be present.

- Inclusivity: We are an inclusive community and welcome all participants.

- Skill Levels: Please bring a project you can work on comfortably. While we have workshops, instructors will also be taking time to relax and won't be available for individual help outside of class.

- Packing: We recommend bringing your favorite pillow (if you're picky like me), personal toiletries, and layers for the Northern California fall weather.

• Policy: Registration is non-refundable. You may transfer your spot to someone else, or if we can fill your spot from a waitlist, we will refund you 75% of the original cost (minus the deposit).
