Beginning Knitting- Learn to Knit

Always wanted to learn how to knit? This is the class for you! We will teach you the basics and get you ready for our other more advanced classes.

In this series you can jump in whenever you like, so no need to take the classes in a particular order or time frame. The skills taught are: cast on, knit, purl and bind off. We will also teach increasing, decreasing and working in the round for those who master the basics! We find that most students learn all the basics in 2-3 sessions, then can move onto our other classes, like socks, sweaters, hats and more!

This beginning knitting class is meant for brand new knitters or those with only a *tiny bit of experience. If you already know how to cast on, knit, purl, bind off and increase/decrease we will guide you to another class.

Dates: We will offer this class weekly or bi-weekly throughout the Winter, new sessions are added every couple of weeks so check back if you don't see a date here that works for you.

Cost: $30

Materials: Please buy your materials here so we can show you the best yarn and needles for learning. If you think you already have materials bring them to us so we can make sure they are correct for this class. Worsted weight 100% WOOL yarn and WOODEN size US 8 needles (straight or 24" circular). It's also helpful to have scissors, darning needle and tape measure.

Experience Needed: None! Children ages 9+ are welcome in this class too.

What you'll learn: Cast on, Knit, Purl, Bind off. Students with a bit more experience may also learn increases and decreases, and/or knitting in the round.
