Sweater Knitting Workshop

Description: This class is for first time sweater knitter, anyone who wants to strengthen their sweater knitting skills or learn one piece sweater knitting. You will see our recommended sweater patterns below. If you are not the total beginner, you can choose a different pattern, but you will need approval from the instructor.

In addition to learning the basics of one piece sweater knitting, expert knitter Daniele will also help you to adjust the pattern to fit your body just how you want it to.

This class will happen once a month on Sundays. You can join any time, you do not need to take this workshop in any particular order or time frame: you will to sign up for each class separately and work at your own pace.

Materials: Yarn, needles, scissors, darning needle, stitch markers, tape measure. Pen and paper is always useful to write down notes. *Don’t choose dark yarn for your first sweater. Double stranding is also not recommended.

Please buy your yarn at Cast Away. Be sure to show up to class on time with materials ready and swatch made if required (first session only).

The Pattern: You will buy the pattern separately, see pattern links below.

Experience Needed: You should already have these basic skills: knit, purl, increase, decrease, knitting in the round, and bind off. 

Homework: Knit a gauge swatch- let us know if you need instructions for this.

Cancellation Policy: If you need to cancel or reschedule we offer store credit only with at least 24 hours notice. We can not give you a refund or store credit with less than 24 hours notice.

You can pick your first sweater pattern from the list below, or if you find one on your own we will tell you if it's OK for this class. The following sweaters suggestions are very beginner friendly!
